We stepped it up for a night at the Fairmont. A flag for every state at the entrance, every President bar one has stayed there, and there are almost 600 rooms. It was fun - gotta love expedia for those last minute bookings.

A good basin at Magnolia Brewery - the Haight
So the 'washroom' has always been fascinating - and the famous Magnolia showed us this exceptional one. We also fell in love with the fried green tomato sandwich, devils on horse back with chevre, Al's fried chicken sandwich with bac-on coleslaw, plus some exceptionally brewed on-site beers. The experience had us relaxing in the Haight - which wasn't as 'trippy' as I had expected, until we entered the Golden Gate Park.....so many hippies with recorders and dope propositions - I giggled my way through. Alistair almost cried. One of the funniest hours for me ever (and terrifying for Al), until we found the de Young Museum - and we were in the sanctury of a very beautiful buliding by the guys who did the Birdsnest.

Good (and Cute) Eating at the Farmers' Market
Check out how perfect these mini cauliflower heads are. The quality of produce is hard to explain here - a basket of strawberries went down nicely for breakfast (plus some of that famous Blue Bottle Coffee). Again. Believe the hype!
Grant's Tobacconists
Alistair came into a cold sweat here - I had to leave the 'store' to give him time to choose from the wide array of tobbacco!! And the guy here (like a few we have run into) just loved talking about those All Whites. The people in San Fran are so friendly it is almost disconcerting, and then you realise they are sincere. Very cool.
Crab Salad at John's Grill
Crab Salad in the greatest chilled metal bowl, (with a Martini on the side) to celebrate Nicholas Brown's birthday. We went all out.
Getting out and about in San Francisco
We biked over the GG bridge! The photo is taken from what has to be the greatest dog park on earth. The dogs are too small to see, but they were frolicking freely at this Dog Exercise Area. What a back drop!
